Version details
1.10 (14-Mar-2016)
- quality settings have been moved to presets, i.e. for different presets now can be selected different quality settings. Accordingly these settings now are available in menu Tools » Preset » Configure instead of Options window. Subtitles-related setting is also part of quality settings now
- option to select preferred audio quality in video. When selected 'Auto', an audio quality is being selected basing on video quality: for best video - best audio, for 1080p-3072p - nearest to 384kbps (i.e. still the best as for now), for 720p - 256kbps (almost always the best, one exception is 5.1 audio), for 360p-480p - 128kbps, for 240p - 64kbps, for 144p - 48kbps
- option to give precedence to the format over the quality. When two formats are being compared, 'Priority of formats' is used only after quality comparison. Thus it is used only when qualities of video and audio streams are equal. This is not the way that some people expect or would like it to work. So now such behavior can be changed using this option
- extended streams selection in Advanced mode. Now holding the Ctrl key can be selected any combination of video and audio. For example can be selected regular video and adaptive audio. In this case from video file will be taken only video stream (audio stream will be ignored) and then it will be muxed with adaptive audio to destination file
- analysis has been improved to get precise fps for more videos. Additionally for videos that still don't have fps will be used values of neighbor qualities. It is need to remind that every estimated quality value is pretended by approximation symbol (≈) in detailed format tip, fps value is not an exception
- (Youtube-only) in case when analysis is turned off now will be displayed expected fps values based on itag
- changes related to portable mode. From now program is portable by default. To make it not portable, need to add file named 'nonportable' (without quotes) in the program directory. This is automatically covered by installation but if someone is making portable/nonportable manually then this is important to know. Also portable mode now can be specified in installer command line using /PORTABLE parameter (about parameters read topic Installer command line parameters). Other change - ability to remux formats now is part of executable, external ffmpeg is need only for transcoding. In other words, all operations of Simple and Advanced modes now can be done by the program, external ffmpeg is need only for Convert mode. All other binaries are already optional, so now smallest portable config consists only of just one program exe file
- changes in check for update. Checking period now can be configured and there is available checking for new beta versions. Availability of new version will be indicated by a contrast icon in the toolbar instead of popup message window
- fixed wrong video/audio streams order in destination files in some cases
- fixed subtitles downloading (due to changes on Youtube)
- updated translation. Thanks to Cookie Lee, Åke Engelbrektson, 大眼仔~旭, AlFipapa, Marco C., niknik, hierrete, Edgar 'Fast Edi' Hoffmann, Yonta, Matt H
